Email: stzk@hetnet.nl As adviser of the International Organization of Folk Art - IOV- we will give our impression of the International Folklore Festival in Frydek-Mystek from 19 till 24-06-2002. This festival is an International Folklore Festival with a high educational cause. There were a lot of performances for different schools in Frydek-Mystek and different villages in the surroundings. Many boys and girls could make contacts with cultures from different countries. The performances for the children in the schools take part in theatres. The organisation is very good. All times they take time to speak with visitors and give them real information about the festival. In a school the organisation has their office, a good dining-room and a special room to receive visitors and leaders of the ensembles. All the members from different ensembles have a good place to stay in Frydek-Mystek. Every group has their own guide during their stay. The meal service every day is very good and friendly. The staff in the kitchen take time for all the participants who visit the dining-room for their meal. During the festival their is a good stage for performing in the centre of Frydek. Their is enough place for all the visitors and a special place were the members of the ensembles can have drinks during the performances. All the participants has a badge from the festival with the flag of their country even as all the fellow workers. They have a badge with their function. For the ensembles who take part in this festival there is also time to visit interesting subjects in the surroundings. For Folklore ensembles from all over the world is this festival a very good place to show their own national folklore on different stages in open air and theatres.
